Le projet BAG&rsquo;AGES tente de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 cette question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>projet BAG\u2019AGES<\/strong> est un projet de recherche. Ce projet <strong>\u00e9value les effets de l\u2019agro\u00e9cologie sur l\u2019eau et les milieux aquatiques du bassin Adour-Garonne<\/strong>. Il vise \u00e0 d\u00e9terminer si les <strong>pratiques agro\u00e9cologiques<\/strong> peuvent permettre de <strong>mieux g\u00e9rer les flux d\u2019eau<\/strong> et d\u2019<strong>am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 de l\u2019eau<\/strong>, le tout avec une rentabilit\u00e9 \u00e9conomique comparable, voire meilleure, \u00e0 celle obtenue avec des pratiques conventionnelles. Les pratiques agro\u00e9cologiques prises en compte dans le projet sont donc de <strong>quatre types : <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>allongement des rotations, <\/strong><\/li><li><strong>utilisation des Cultures Interm\u00e9diaires Multi Services (CIMS), <\/strong><\/li><li><strong>simplification du travail du sol,<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>agroforesterie<\/strong>. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Les <strong>effets attendus <\/strong>de ces pratiques vis-\u00e0-vis du cycle de l\u2019eau sont alors : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>barrage de la plante<\/strong> (moins de ruissellement), <\/li><li><strong>guide pour la p\u00e9n\u00e9tration de l\u2019eau<\/strong> dans le sol le long du syst\u00e8me racinaire, <\/li><li><strong>\u00e9ponge pour une meilleure r\u00e9tention<\/strong> autour du syst\u00e8me racinaire,<\/li><li><strong>structuration du sol<\/strong> par la pr\u00e9sence permanente de racines dans les sols et des mycorhizes. Ceci serait gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&rsquo;apport de rhizod\u00e9p\u00f4ts et in fine de MO. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour valider ces effets, cinq ann\u00e9es d\u2019exp\u00e9rimentations, d\u2019enqu\u00eates et de mod\u00e9lisation ont \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es. Cette perte est due \u00e0 un tassement naturel. Alors qu\u2019en syst\u00e8me labour, on observe une perte de volume macroporal, au-del\u00e0 de 25 cm de profondeur. Cette stabilit\u00e9 s\u2019explique principalement par une <strong>pr\u00e9sence accrue, dans ces syst\u00e8mes, de compos\u00e9s biologiques <\/strong>(notamment la glomaline). Ils conf\u00e8rent alors aux particules du sol des propri\u00e9t\u00e9s hydrophobes et les prot\u00e8gent ainsi de la d\u00e9sagr\u00e9gation par l\u2019eau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>projet BAG\u2019AGES a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que les pratiques agro\u00e9cologiques permettent<\/strong> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>meilleure r\u00e9tention de l\u2019eau dans les sols <\/strong>avec un accroissement de l\u2019ordre de 10 \u00e0 15 % en cas de combinaison couverture v\u00e9g\u00e9tale maximale + arr\u00eat du travail du sol par rapport \u00e0 des sols r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement labour\u00e9s.<\/li><li><strong>augmentation et meilleure stabilit\u00e9<\/strong> des capacit\u00e9s d\u2019infiltration des sols<\/li><li><strong>augmentation de la transpiration<\/strong> par la longue pr\u00e9sence de plantes vivantes sur le sol. Cette augmentation peut alors r\u00e9duire le drainage de 15 \u00e0 60 mm\/an selon la biomasse des couverts pr\u00e9sents et leur date de destruction sans toutefois pour trois ann\u00e9es sur quatre d\u2019incidence sur la culture suivante.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Il est probable qu\u2019une <strong>plus grande quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau traverse les sols pour r\u00e9alimenter les nappes<\/strong> comparativement aux sols r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement travaill\u00e9s sur lesquels une forte part de l\u2019eau circule en surface, assez rapidement, vers les rivi\u00e8res. Par ailleurs, la <strong>baisse de l\u2019\u00e9vaporation de l\u2019eau du sol<\/strong>, du fait de la couverture du sol, et l\u2019am\u00e9lioration de l\u2019infiltration de l\u2019eau favorisent aussi la min\u00e9ralisation. Sur la question du carbone, <strong>le non travail et les couverts v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, m\u00eame de courte dur\u00e9e, permettent de stocker du carbone dans les sols<\/strong> (\u00e0 hauteur de 50 \u00e0 100 g C\/m\u00b2\/an). Cet effet est toutefois plus faible sur les sols d\u00e9j\u00e0 riches en mati\u00e8res organiques. Enfin, l<strong>es couverts permettent d\u2019augmenter l\u2019alb\u00e9do de surface<\/strong> entrainant un refroidissement local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sources
