Le projet SUSTAIN avait pour objectif d\u2019\u00e9valuer, en syst\u00e8mes AB, les effets de la r\u00e9duction du travail du sol sur la qualit\u00e9 et les services rendus par les sols. Pour cela, il s\u2019est appuy\u00e9 sur l\u2019analyse de donn\u00e9es collect\u00e9es durant 15 ans sur la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chambres-agriculture-bretagne.fr\/synagri\/station-de-kerguehennec-56\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">station de Kergu\u00e9hennec <\/a>en Bretagne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il en ressort que<strong> le travail r\u00e9duit du sol am\u00e9liore les services de r\u00e9gulation et de soutien<\/strong>. Il permet une r\u00e9duction de l\u2019\u00e9rosion et du transfert d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments de 70 \u00e0 90&nbsp;%. Sur le long terme, le travail r\u00e9duit du sol n\u2019a aucun effet significatif sur les stocks en carbone des sols. Mais, il modifie leur r\u00e9partition avec une plus forte accumulation en surface. Compar\u00e9 au labour, le travail r\u00e9duit du sol ne modifie pas la biomasse microbienne totale. Toutefois, il en modifie sa distribution spatiale. Par ailleurs, il a des effets positifs sur les populations de lombrics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La biomasse cro\u00eet de + 40 \u00e0 + 60 %. De plus, il augmente la richesse et la r\u00e9gularit\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces en favorisant les lombrics an\u00e9ciques et \u00e9pig\u00e9iques. Toutefois, ses effets sur le niveau de production culturale sont plus variables, de l\u2019ordre de \u201310 % \u00e0 +7%. De plus, ils sont <strong>fortement li\u00e9es au type de culture et aux autres pratiques culturales<\/strong>. Ce site est subdivis\u00e9 en quatre blocs et g\u00e9r\u00e9 selon les r\u00e8gles de l\u2019Agriculture Biologique. Il pr\u00e9sente un sol glaiseux avec un taux de mati\u00e8re organique \u00e9lev\u00e9 de 4&nbsp;% et un pH de 6. La rotation appliqu\u00e9e est ma\u00efs\/triticale\/sarrasin\/pois\/triticale \/luzerne deux&nbsp;ans\/triticale\/ma\u00efs\/bl\u00e9. La fertilisation organique se fait avec du fumier ou lisier de porcs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans chaque bloc, <strong>quatre techniques de travail du sol ont \u00e9t\u00e9 compar\u00e9es<\/strong> depuis 2003&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>LC =<\/strong> labour conventionnel \u00e0 25 cm<\/li><li><strong>LA =<\/strong> labour agronomique \u00e0 15 cm<\/li><li><strong>C15 =<\/strong> travail r\u00e9duit \u00e0 15 cm<\/li><li><strong>C8 =<\/strong> travail superficiel \u00e0 8 cm<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Diff\u00e9rents<strong> param\u00e8tres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9s<\/strong>&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Chimiques&nbsp;:<\/strong> carbone, azote, phosphore, mati\u00e8re organique<\/li><li><strong>Physiques&nbsp;: <\/strong>densit\u00e9 et conductivit\u00e9 hydraulique<\/li><li><strong>Biologiques&nbsp;:<\/strong> vers de terre, n\u00e9matodes et biomasse microbienne<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Principaux r\u00e9sultats obtenus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compar\u00e9 au labour conventionnel, le travail r\u00e9duit du sol ne modifie pas la biomasse microbienne totale<\/strong> mais modifie sa distribution spatiale en concentrant les microorganismes \u00e0 la surface du sol. <strong>Ainsi, apr\u00e8s 10 ans de travail minimum, la biomasse microbienne augmente de 19&nbsp;% dans l\u2019horizon 0 &#8211; 15 cm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le travail r\u00e9duit a un <strong>effet positif sur les populations de lombrics<\/strong> avec une augmentation de la biomasse en g\/m\u00b2 de 40 \u00e0 60&nbsp;%. Il favorise principalement les esp\u00e8ces an\u00e9ciques et \u00e9pig\u00e9iques. Se nourrissant des r\u00e9sidus en surface, ces cat\u00e9gories \u00e9cologiques acc\u00e8lerent la d\u00e9composition des mati\u00e8res organiques. Les esp\u00e8ces an\u00e9ciques, qui forment de grandes galeries verticales dans le sol, am\u00e9liorent \u00e9galement la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019infiltration hydrique des sols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet SUSTAIN a confirm\u00e9 que les syst\u00e8mes avec travail r\u00e9duit du sol<em> diminuaient \u00e0 la fois l\u2019\u00e9rosion et le transfert d\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ments <\/em>(pesticides et phosphore particulaire) gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une meilleure couverture du sol par les plantes et les r\u00e9sidus v\u00e9g\u00e9\u00e9aux. Les essais montrent globalement une r\u00e9duction de 70 \u00e0 90&nbsp;% des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes d\u2019\u00e9rosion et de ruissellement. Toutefois, on observe de<strong> fortes variations en fonction des cultures<\/strong>. Le ruissellement est consid\u00e9rablement plus faible en cultures de printemps (exemple : ma\u00efs) avec un travail r\u00e9duit, qu\u2019en cultures d\u2019hiver (exemple : bl\u00e9). Cela s\u2019explique notamment par les conditions sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 la saison (humidit\u00e9 du sol \u00e9lev\u00e9e, \u00e9v\u00e8nements pluvieux plus marqu\u00e9s).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s 5 et 10 ans,<strong> le travail r\u00e9duit du sol n\u2019a aucun effet significatif sur le stockage de carbone<\/strong> mais modifie sa r\u00e9partition, la mati\u00e8re organique ayant tendance \u00e0 s\u2019accumuler en surface du sol. Par ailleurs, les \u00e9missions de N<sub>2<\/sub>O li\u00e9es \u00e0 la r\u00e9duction du travail du sol, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es au moment du changement de syst\u00e8mes se r\u00e9duisent apr\u00e8s une dizaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es (- 26&nbsp;%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des \u00e9tudes globales regroupant diff\u00e9rents types de cultures, climats et sols montrent que <strong>l\u2019impact du travail du sol r\u00e9duit sur la production est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement n\u00e9gatif <\/strong>de l\u2019ordre de &#8211; 5&nbsp;%. Le projet SUSTAIN a mis en \u00e9vidence que ces modifications de rendement sont toutefois tr\u00e8s variables, de n\u00e9gatives \u00e0 positives, et qu\u2019elles sont surtout \u00e9troitement d\u00e9pendantes des cultures, de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et des autres pratiques mises en \u0153uvre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ainsi,<strong> le travail r\u00e9duit n\u2019a pas eu de cons\u00e9quence sur le rendement des cultures<\/strong> telles que le colza ou l\u2019association tr\u00e8fle-gramin\u00e9es. A l\u2019inverse, pour le bl\u00e9, les rendements \u00e9taient en moyenne inf\u00e9rieurs de 10&nbsp;% en semis direct mais ils retrouvaient des valeurs proches du labour dans le cas du travail r\u00e9duit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le projet SUSTAIN montre qu\u2019aucune des quatre techniques de travail du sol en AB n\u2019a un profil favorable sur l\u2019ensemble des param\u00e8tres mesur\u00e9s. Concernant les crit\u00e8res agronomiques, l\u2019avantage est au labour conventionnel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pour la qualit\u00e9 chimique et physique, c\u2019est le travail r\u00e9duit qui est le plus favorable mais il impacte plus fortement les crit\u00e8res agronomiques notamment en raison d\u2019une plus forte concurrence par les adventices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Enfin, pour la composante biologique, c\u2019est <strong>le labour agronomique qui est le plus favorable notamment pour la biomasse microbienne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sources&nbsp;des effets du non labour sur la qualit\u00e9 et les services \u00e9cosyst\u00e9miques des sols en syst\u00e8mes Agriculture Biologique<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><em>PERES Gu\u00e9nola., 2022.
