Les sols renferment \u00e0 eux seuls 25 % de la biodiversit\u00e9 des esp\u00e8ces terrestres. S\u2019y trouvent notamment les principaux groupes de micro-organismes : bact\u00e9ries, champignons, algues\u2026 Dont la biomasse totale peut atteindre 5 tonnes par hectare. Ces <strong>microorganismes tiennent une place centrale dans le bon fonctionnement des sols<\/strong> et, dans un contexte d\u2019agro\u00e9cologie, deviennent des acteurs sur lesquels s\u2019appuyer. On parle d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9cologique des sols. Toutefois, cela s\u2019av\u00e8re tr\u00e8s complexe car les micro-organismes sont multiples et leurs interactions avec les plantes encore peu expliqu\u00e9es. Un colloque a eu lieu r\u00e9cemment \u00e0 l\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/www.academie-agriculture.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Acad\u00e9mie Fran\u00e7aise d\u2019Agriculture<\/a> pour pr\u00e9senter et discuter des avanc\u00e9es sur les connaissances des<strong> interactions entre plantes et micro-organismes telluriques<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019objectif vis\u00e9 de ces recherches : <strong>arriver \u00e0 orienter ces interactions afin de promouvoir les effets b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques de ces interactions pour des syst\u00e8mes de cultures plus \u00e9conomes en intrants de synth\u00e8se et plus durables<\/strong>. Ce dossier pr\u00e9sente quelques r\u00e9sultats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-ast-global-color-5-color has-ast-global-color-0-background-color has-text-color has-background\">Un des enjeux de l\u2019agro\u00e9cologie sera de r\u00e9duire l\u2019usage des intrants chimiques que ce soient les engrais ou les produits phytosanitaires. Dans ce contexte, les sols rev\u00eatent une place<br>centrale pour une gestion plus \u00e9cologique des agrosyst\u00e8mes. Cela n\u00e9cessite de comprendre leur fonctionnement pour utiliser tout leur potentiel g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et maximiser les fonctions cl\u00e9 : structuration et stabilisation, disponibilit\u00e9 des \u00e9l\u00e9ments, symbioses\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qu&rsquo;est ce que l&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9cologique ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>La majorit\u00e9 de ces fonctions impliquent un sol vivant en particulier riche en microorganismes (bact\u00e9ries, champignons\u2026). <strong>La cl\u00e9 d\u2019une bonne ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9cologique r\u00e9side donc essentiellement dans la compr\u00e9hension des interactions plante\/populations microbiennes au sein de la rhizosph\u00e8re<\/strong>. En effet, les plantes recrutent des populations de microorganismes par l\u2019exsudation de rhizod\u00e9p\u00f4ts par les racines formant ainsi des microbiotes rhizosph\u00e9riques sp\u00e9cifiques \u00e0 chaque g\u00e9notype. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Si la lib\u00e9ration de ces rhizod\u00e9p\u00f4ts co\u00fbte de l\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e0 la plante, les b\u00e9n\u00e9fices per\u00e7us compensent largement ce co\u00fbt : protection, augmentation de la croissance\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Actuellement, ces interactions sont encore peu valoris\u00e9es par la s\u00e9lection en situation fertile. Ce qui entra\u00eene une perte d\u2019aptitude \u00e0 valoriser le microbiote pour les vari\u00e9t\u00e9s les plus r\u00e9centes. <strong>Dans le contexte d\u2019agro\u00e9cologie, cela pourrait \u00eatre int\u00e9ressant d\u2019int\u00e9grer cette aptitude dans les crit\u00e8res de s\u00e9lection.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les voies de recherche en ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9cologique ?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Diff\u00e9rentes voies de recherche en ing\u00e9nierie \u00e9cologique sont envisag\u00e9es pour maximiser ces interactions : <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>travailler sur la s\u00e9lection de gramin\u00e9es inhibant la nitrification, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>augmenter la performance de la symbiose bact\u00e9rienne fixatrice d\u2019azote,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>maximiser les processus de facilitation des associations v\u00e9g\u00e9tales du type gramin\u00e9es\/l\u00e9gumineuses. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Le principal enjeu sera alors d\u2019arriver \u00e0 qualifier le rapport b\u00e9n\u00e9fice\/co\u00fbt de ces pratiques en fonction des services rendus et des milieux dans lesquels elles s\u2019appliqueront<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les travaux en cours&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Quelques travaux sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 bien avanc\u00e9s. C\u2019est le cas d\u2019un projet dont l\u2019objectif est d\u2019orienter les populations microbiennes pour une meilleure d\u00e9fense des plantes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le cas d\u2019\u00e9tude est <strong>la jambe noire de la pomme de terre<\/strong>. Elle peut en effet occasionner jusqu\u2019\u00e0 50 % de pertes au champ pour la production de plants. Dans ce projet, les chercheurs ont cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 perturber le syst\u00e8me de communication du pathog\u00e8ne en d\u00e9truisant les signaux gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des bact\u00e9ries rhizosph\u00e9riques auxiliaires. Les r\u00e9sultats sont concluants et ils travaillent d\u00e9sormais sur la formulation pour une application efficace au champ. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u2019autres projets sont encore plus ambitieux. Par exemple, les travaux qui visent in fine \u00e0 transf\u00e9rer l\u2019aptitude de la nodulation pour toutes les esp\u00e8ces. Par une connaissance plus pr\u00e9cise des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes de nodulation et de mycorhization, les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 les fameux <strong>facteurs Nod et Myc.<\/strong> Ils se sont alors rendus compte qu\u2019il existe au moins trois \u00e9tapes communes dans la transduction de ces facteurs. Cela implique qu\u2019il pourrait donc \u00eatre possible de faire acqu\u00e9rir la nodulation gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019appareil de mycorhization pr\u00e9sent chez pr\u00e8s de 95 % des plantes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un projet ANR est d\u2019ailleurs en cours.  Son objectif est de trouver un traitement de semences qui permettrait mycorhization, nodulation et stimulation des d\u00e9fenses. De belles perspectives de solutions pour une agriculture plus durable et moins consommatrice de produits de synth\u00e8se gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ces interactions plante\/microorganismes telluriques
